Panthers come from 17 down to top Eagles

PHILADELPHIA (AP) Cam Newton tossed a 1-yard touchdown pass to Greg Olsen with 1:22 left and the Carolina Panthers overcame a 17-point deficit in the fourth quarter to beat the Philadelphia Eagles 21-17 on Sunday.

Wes Horton sacked Carson Wentz, forcing a fumble on fourth down from the Panthers 14 to seal the victory.

The Panthers improved to 4-2 with the biggest comeback in franchise history. The defending Super Bowl champion Eagles fell to 3-4.

Jaguars bench QB Bortles, lose to Texans

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) Blake Bortles fumbled on Jacksonville's third play of each half, leading to 10 points and his benching in a 20-7 loss to the streaking Houston Texans on Sunday.

The Texans (4-3) won their fourth consecutive game thanks to those two turnovers and took a one-game lead in the AFC South.

Chargers hold off Titans in London

LONDON (AP) The Los Angeles Chargers' Adrian Phillips believes the Tennessee Titans made the right decision to go for a potential go-ahead 2-pointer with 31 seconds remaining - and not just because it failed.

Phillips broke up Marcus Mariota's pass attempt, the Titans' second after a defensive penalty on the first attempt, and the Chargers held on for a 20-19 victory on Sunday at Wembley Stadium.

Lions rush for 248 yards, beat Dolphins

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (AP) Kerryon Johnson rushed for 158 yards and the Detroit Lions looked unstoppable Sunday by repeatedly mounting long scoring drives to beat the Miami Dolphins 32-21.

Matt Stafford was 18 for 22 for 217 yards and two touchdowns. Detroit had 457 total yards and 248 on the ground, with scoring drives covering 64, 85, 75, 65, 75, 63 and 44 yards.

Colts blow out Bills to end skid at 4

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) Andrew Luck threw four touchdown passes and Marlon Mack had his first rushing scores of the season as the Indianapolis Colts blew out Buffalo 37-5 on Sunday.

The Colts (2-5) snapped a four-game losing streak and finally won their 300th game since moving to Indianapolis from Baltimore in 1984. Adam Vinatieri scored five points to move within five of breaking Morten Andersen's NFL career record (2,544).

Bengals' Burfict fined $112K for 2 hits

NEW YORK (AP) The NFL has been fined Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict $112,000 for multiple unnecessary roughness penalties in Cincinnati's loss to Pittsburgh last Sunday.

The third-quarter plays involved Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown and running back James Conner. Burfict, who has been fined 11 times for more than $315,000 during his seven-year NFL career, was suspended for four games to begin this season for violating the league's policy on performance enhancers.

Falcons DT Jarrett to return vs. Giants

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. (AP) Falcons coach Dan Quinn says defensive tackle Grady Jarrett has been cleared to play after an ankle injury sidelined him for two games.

Jarrett, the team's best interior lineman, will start Monday night when Atlanta (2-4) hosts the New York Giants (1-5). Reserve end Derrick Shelby, out since Week 2 with a groin injury, is also expected to return.

Jets release WR Pryor, sign WR Burnett

NEW YORK (AP) The New York Jets have released wide receiver Terrelle Pryor, who is dealing with a groin injury.

The team also announced Saturday it has signed wide receiver Deontay Burnett from the practice squad to take Pryor's spot on the active roster.

49ers promote DB Powell, waive QB Savage

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) The San Francisco 49ers have promoted defensive back Tyvis Powell from the practice squad to the active roster and waived quarterback Tom Savage.

The move Saturday makes Powell available to play Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams. San Francisco has three cornerbacks listed as questionable: Richard Sherman (calf), Ahkello Witherspoon (concussion) and K'Waun Williams (shoulder).
