Woodland adjusting to newfound fame

DETROIT (AP) Gary Woodland left his news conference and resumed another interview while walking toward the Detroit Golf Club clubhouse when he was stopped in his tracks.

"Hey, Gary!" a man shouted, leaning against a rope. "Can I get a picture real quick?"

Woodland obliged, striking a quick pose with the fan. Earlier in the morning, a crowd gathered to watch him tee off in the Rocket Mortgage Classic Pro-Am.

Senior Open on tricky Notre Dame course

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) Footballs and kicking tees are being replaced by golf balls and tees for the 40th playing of the U.S. Senior Open, which is being contested for the first time in the shadows of Notre Dame's Golden Dome and "The House That Rockne Built."

Players in the 156-man field are raving about "The Course That Bill and Ben Built" - the par-70, 6943-yard Warren Golf Course designed by architects Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw. Read More...

Woods dropped from wrongful death suit

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) Tiger Woods is no longer a defendant in a wrongful death lawsuit filed by the parents of a drunken driver who died in a car crash.

Attorneys for the parents of Nicholas Immesberger filed an amended complaint Friday in Palm Beach County court dropping Woods from the suit. The complaint still targets The Woods restaurant in Jupiter, in which the pro golfer is an investor, and restaurant general manager Erica Herman, who is in a relationship with Woods. Read More...

CHASKA, Minn. (AP) Hannah Green never felt more nervous than standing over a 5-foot par putt Sunday at Hazeltine National with a chance to win her first major at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship.

Pavan wins BMW International in playoff

MUNICH (AP) Andrea Pavan defeated Matthew Fitzpatrick in a playoff to win the BMW International Open on Sunday.

The Italian carded a bogey-free 6-under 66 in the final round to finish 15-under 273 overall, as did Fitzpatrick (69) after a bogey on the 17th hole. The English player birdied the final hole to force the playoff. Read More...

CHASKA, Minn. (AP) Inbee Park has felt both reflective and inspired this week, with the Women's PGA Championship being played in Minnesota.
